Hi, I’m Priya!
I'm a graduate of Cornell University (December 2018) and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, with a concentration in User Experience.
Since then, I’ve served as a Product Manager at Blackstone, managing the Investor Portal and Compliance technologies, and at Uber, integrating the Rides vertical on the Careem super-app with Uber Rides and heartily enjoying the Uber Cash that employees are awarded each month. Here’s a link to my full resume. As of 2023, I’ve relocated to Westminster, Maryland, to balance recovery from a severe car accident with full-time work.
As a designer, I aim to create inclusive, adaptable systems and processes that unlock new opportunities for my fellow humans.
I’ve learned about my ethics in Design through formative projects like establishing long-term mentorships with aspiring English-learners and building a space for diverse professionals at Blackstone. I emerged from these experiences with a strong sense of fulfillment at having cultivated meaningful relationships with people outside of my daily sphere and having empowered them to satisfy their needs and pursue their desires.
Above all, I am a champion of generating visibility and sharing knowledge wherever possible, and especially for subgroups that face barriers to information access. By augmenting our curiosity, awareness, and collaboration, I believe we are bettering our world. Who doesn’t want that? 🙂
I’m a Product Manager formerly based in New York City and currently in Maryland. I’ve had a grand total of 1 celebrity sighting in my time in NYC (Andrew Garfield: thank you), but I’m staying hopeful.
I have a German Shepherd “puppy,” Yoshi, who has 5 years of experience stealing hearts. He dropped out of doggie school and went on to make a fortune in tennis balls and chew sticks.
The New York Puzzle Company is a reluctant sponsor of my delayed response times in the Winter months. I remind myself that I’ve completed a 1,000-piece puzzle when I need some extra motivation.
I love to travel — preferably via aircraft, but at times via books/movies. I have family in India and Sweden, and so far, I’ve visited 8 other countries (have yet to learn 10 world languages, though).
I raised a jade bonsai, a Chinese money plant, and a third unknown variety of succulent. They seem to accept me for who I am, despite the droughts they’ve known under my care.
The creation of this portfolio was made possible by the following tracks. Give them a listen if you’d like to hear what my ears heard almost exclusively between September and December 2022.
